Long SVG filenames cause saving problems

I have had problems when creating playing techniques that use long SVG names. As these files in Windows are stored as something like:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\Dorico 3\ocfsessions\session-cb47\a79f-3950-dbda-46bb\supplementary_data\scorelibraryresources\resource_store\kGraphicPrimitiveCollection\1a3ab5bd-5f1f-4bcb-b010-0127375af04c.muted.svg

which is 221 character long, I suppose that with some characters more it reaches 256 that probably is a limit for the file name.

When this happens, Dorico gives an error and do not allow the project to save, and I have not been able to find the way to solve it once happened. Now that I know that, I will choose shorter SVG names to avoid the problem, but I post it here in case helps somebody.

Yes, we’re aware of this problem. It affects Windows only. We are working on a solution for it, but in the meantime, as you say, using as short a filename as possible for any graphics you import into playing techniques is the best strategy.

Thank you, Daniel!

Here is a hack that might help.

Thanks Craig, I have tried this, but it doesn’t work for me.

OK, was worth a shot.
