Looking to choose between a 9800X3D and a 9950X3D CPU. Any opinions? How does Cubase handle dual CCD

I am building a new PC and am torn between these two specific CPU’s. I have seen benchmarks where the 9950X3D is at the top of the charts in all scenarios, but have read the real world difference actually favors the 9800x3D because DAWS don’t have to worry about thread hopping/prioritizing the x3d CCD Core over the non x3D Core, which can cause latency spikes when live tracking. Do any of you have any experience with either of these CPU’s?

I looked at these, but eventually chose a lowly 9700X (65W) and have had no issues. No fan noise.

Unless you’re intending to game, or have some serious requirements for heavy EDM or sound design, I’d suggest saving a ton of money and only upgrading later if you hit a performance issue.

Similar question being asked over here:

The vast majority of DAW users won’t even get close to maxing a 9950X3D or even a 9950X. Also, be aware that the 9600 and the 9600F are the only Ryzen 9000 CPUs that come with coolers. Functionally, if your intent is to go with the highest spec CPU, I would go with a 7950X3D instead. It’s more matured in terms of updates and tweaking and it’s functionally identical to the 9950X3D sans some minor differences in transfer rates and such. It also costs the same. If the cooler will represent an issue, I’d go for a 7900.
