Lost gpu in latest update!

Hi Robin. I know the version notes specifically mentioned that older or less powerful gpu would not be recognised with latest update, but on my old home pc the previous version did work with my gpu. So it seems a bit sad to lose that with latest update, even though it worked. Can you change it back so that Spectralayers will at least attempt to use gpu and tell the user if the test fails? Thanks, Eddie
p.s. it should work very well with my 3080 in the studio. Will install when I get there and report back.

Hi Eddie, what GPU do you have, and what kind of speed-up did you get over CPU when using it ?

Hi Robin, not at home pc now. Think it’s an AMD rx570. Didn’t measure speed but it was a lot faster on unmix song than with cpu. No way to check now since I updated, sorry.

Just about to install on studio PC. Will do a before /after on unmix noisy speech and report back. Thanks for replying.

Patch 2 set a strict minimum requirements to DirectX 12.1 capable-GPU to avoid issues, but some DirectX 12.0 GPUs might indeed be able to work as AI accelerators.
I’ll lower the strict requirements to DirectX 12.0 in Patch 3 (probably end of September) and just display a warning in case of DirectX 12.0-only capabilities.
