M-audio projecmix i/o in cubase13 faders jump down to -oo when touched and released

Hi guys

some good news and some bad news

Lets start bad

i rebooted my system
and now i dont get any response in the midi monitor, everything is (not)working as before exept the midi monitor
(but i never use that so no wories)

but i found something that might help or make thing even weirder

my faders or not controlling the sliders but are moving the cubase
software meterbridge

so if i move my fader up, the meterbridge wil follow.
the response of the meterbridge is somewhat slower so if i move fast it wil just bump a little bit up and move back down since it doen’t get any more input.

if i move it slow i can see it go to where i move the fader, but on release the meterbridge fall down and so does the fader

(i believe this is where all the signals are coming from
(again im to stupid for midi and dont know the complicated insides of cubase or all the components the signal has to pas throug))

Now the Happy news

I got may faders working and responding
this is what i did

go to setup studio go to MIDI port setup

there i unchecked the win rt, you wil lose project mix controller in upper list, dont worry.

then i cheked the ones saying to Directmusic, then in the upper screen.
project mix control is back(only with DIRECT in the device collmn

Go To mackie control in the left pane . then in the right top set the midi in and out to direct/projectmix control from the selection menu

thats it
i dont jet know what the downsides of this sollution may be, @Martin.Jirsak maybe this is your homebase again

Ill do some testing and rebooting and post more if i discover it

many thx to @jpspoons1 and @Martin.Jirsak for digging this one out with me you guys gave me the hope and support to not give up to soon and spend the money that we all don’t have enough of
