M4a files playback too fast in WL Pro 12

When I open an m4a file recorded mono in 48 kHz with an iPhone, the playback in WL 12 is Mickey Mouse like too fast. When I open the same file in WL 11, everything is fine. Any idea??
Thanks, Holger

Can you share this file?

Thanks for your reply, PG. Of course I can share the file but I don’t see a button for uploading it to somewhere on the Steinberg server. Sorry for asking such basic stuff…

I have the same problem. Any solution so far?

See this thread:

I see. But I can’t see my AAC Fraunhofer license to activate. I am on WaveLab 12 Trial and 11.2 full license. May this be the reason?

You need the full version of WaveLab 12, not the Trial.

I am on WL 12.0.20 full license and can’t see my AAC Fraunhofer license in the Steinberg Activation Manager either.

But did you upgrade from WaveLab 11? This possibility if only for WaveLab 11 owners.

I guess so. Thank you for your support

Hi - I’ve upgraded from WL11 Pro to WL12 Pro (and activated) and can’t see this AAC licence in the activation manager either?

PG, can you please confirm that you could reproduce the WL 12 problem of 48KHz Mono files playing back much too fast (Chipmunk / Mickey Mouse like)? The 48KHz mono file opens as a stereo file (=double mono). In WL 11 everything is fine!! It would help if you confirmed that this problem will be solved in the next WL 12 Update.

Yes, there is a bug that will be fixed in 12.0.30.
This concerns AAC mono files (stereo is ok), that are not properly decoded, when the AAC decoder is not active for WaveLab 12.
