Mac mini m4 / Cubase 14 audio dropouts

Hey fellow Cubase producers! I’m hoping someone can help me on this.

I’ve just bought a new mac mini m4. 16gb Ram. I updated from an old mac mini 2012 that also had 16gb ram and ran cubase 7 with no issues. Now I have cubase 14 artist and the m4 and I’m experiencing audio drops out. I never had this problem with the 13 year old mac using the same projects in cubase 7. The only difference is that I’m having to use rosetta 2 for some old vst 2 plug ins. (until i update these and switch everything to vst3). I’m currently working on a project that only has audio tracks with no processing and still having these audio drop outs. Does anyone have any issues with cubase / m4? I’ve tried reducing / raising buffer sizes / freezing tracks but still i have the issue. Even when bouncing down a whole track it does the same thing. Also I have the internet running for (splice/loopcloud) , same as on my old mac which had no issues, but this new m4 open is causing problems. I’m running steinberg’s UR44 audio interface and using usb - c converter attached to the usb c at the back of mac. Not sure if this could be the reason?? Does anyone know what the best solution is to optimize the mac and/or cubase?

I have no issues at all , rock solid. Does it work well in native silicon mode ? Should be. If not try to change the USB C converter.

I would avoid adapters for audio… A USB-C to A cable that is specifically rated for DATA is what you should be using.

Indeed - getting a “charging” cord instead of a “data” cord is somewhat common…
