Mac Studio 36GB cannot handle Cubase 15

I recently installed Cubase on my Mac mini with an M1 chip. After about 10-15 minutes of use, Cubase started experiencing significant screen management issues, especially in smaller projects. Last week, I purchased a Mac Studio with a 14-core processor and 36GB of RAM, and the same problem persists. After 10-15 minutes of use, Cubase becomes extremely slow.

Additionally, I’m encountering an issue with the auto-focus feature on a VST track when I drag it from the right zone. This is quite frustrating because I start playing, and it plays the last selected track or nothing at all if it was an audio track. Another issue is the folder color. Despite selecting the option in preferences to prevent tracks from getting folder color, this option doesn’t seem to be working.

I’m seeking any tips or suggestions to resolve these issues. Is Steinberg planning an update? The current version appears to be quite beta.

I’d be inclined to check 3rd party plugins. I’m running 15 on a Mac book air (M3) with 16gb ram and the thing is hardly registering on CPU and memory pressure. I did do a massive cull and got rid of every single 3rd party plugin apart from SSL Bus Comp 2. 20 tracks of audio and 10 tracks of Arturia/ NI VSTs. Same in the studio… but with Mac mini M2, 16GB ram.

What OS are you using ?

The thing is, I’ve been using the same plugins that I used in Cubase 14, and I’ve never had any issues. I had the same problems on two different Macs—one that was freshly installed. I noticed that the speed problem was fixed after I switched to the window view preset from Cubase.
