That said, “Keyboard Maestro” is your friend. Dirt cheap app that has amazing functionality. Basic functions are easy to get started with, but if you take your time to get to know its feature-set you can do amazing things with it. KM in combination with MetaGrid has been a fantastic augmentation of my overall workflow in multiple apps.
So you’ve got some choices, but I’d definitely give Keyboard Maestro a look to assign whatever you want to wherever you want.
EDIT: Thanks to @Greg_Purkey for sharing his detailed past posts about MetaGrid. I knew of it, but it was his contributions that prompted me to buy it and I’ve been using it since
I did try that thing in the Keyboard Settings but it just swapped the things around so F11 on its own gets the ‘clear windows’ thing, and whilst holding down the Fn key gets the volume. Maybe I did something wrong.
Fair point. I should have added a “qualified opinion” of “cheap compared to the extensive feature set the application provides and its scope of functionality.”
It is actually a good price but the current exchange rate between USD & CAD is affecting my purchases Stateside, and you-know-who doesn’t help either.
Off topic rant ( sorry) but companies like Waves do not help, I have purchased numerous plugins from them over the years but when I switched to a Macbook they only allow 1 machine after a yr and you have to purchase their upgrade to allow the second computer to be used, so they want $343 CAD yearly to keep using the Windows computer too, which was one of the reasons I have quit using my Win10 DAW completely.
