I upgraded to macos 27 and I notice that when playing my midi keyboard nektar lx88+. any note keeps playing, it seems as if there is no send off coming through.
I changed the preferences, in see below. But no solution. Of course I restarted everything, (asked AI) but also no solution.
I did. The controller is working perfectly in every other application (Studio One, Keyscape standalone, Pro Tools, Sibelius, Moddart standalone, Kontakt standalone) and is showing the expected MIDI messages in MIDI Monitor.
The only thing that stops the sustained notes in Dorico is hitting the spacebar to start playing the passage
It seems to me if one controller is having problems, and the other don’t there has to be a difference between the two.
A tool like midi monitor might make it clear what that difference is.
Only then a developer could see if there’s a problem on the Dorico side.
You can’t expect a software company to have access to all those different controllers to test those themselves. Users can be of great help to pinpoint possible problems
The M-Audio 192/6 is an audio interface, not a keyboard, isn’t it? What keyboard are you using? Is this the same problem, or a different audio problem with OS27?
Can you describe what’s happening, and provide some diagnostic info to help the developers see if this is something that Dorico needs to fix?
I am using exactly the same set up as I was, and it worked perfectly, before I upgraded to OS27. As described by earlier posts notes are hanging after you input them via my Clavinova. You can input manually and there is no problem at all, so my guess is that there is a midi problem between Dorico and OS27.
One thing comes to mind: Your controllers aren’t class compliant and require 3rd party drivers that haven’t been updated. If you don’t need/use drivers for your controllers, the only other thing is some handling of NoteOn=0 changed in the MIDI sub-system.
Can you screen-grab the MIDI Monitor output for 1 note?
We’ll need to investigate this with the MIDI controllers we have on hand. I’ll come back to you when I have more information.
In the meantime, for any affected users who have two keyboards, one that works, and one that doesn’t, it would be very interesting to see MIDI Monitor output from playing the same material on each one, in case there’s any obvious difference in the data coming from the keyboard.
Danial I have just started to manually input notes, without midi connected, and have found that when you click on a note and press P to play, and you then press space bar to stop playing, the notes hang as per the problem with midi.
