Macro knobs (for native and third party effect-plugins)

Hey producers, hey Steinberg-Team!

First of all, I love Cubase – hands down, one of the best DAWs out there! But there’s one thing that I keep missing in every single production: macro knobs.
You know, those magical, map-able, multi-functional knobs which are controlling multiple parameters of native and third party plugins all at once – Ableton users won’t stop bragging about them.

Cubase already shines with its powerful MIDI CC architecture, and we have so many awesome options for mapping hardware controls to plugins. So, it feels like adding macro knobs wouldn’t be too much of a leap.
My workarounds with third party tools like KSHMR-Chain have crashed Cubase more than I can count…

Having native macro knobs in Cubase would save tons of time, boost creativity, and we would’nt need to get a bachelor in arts to draw our automation.
I’m sure I’m not the only one missing this feature – let’s unite for smoother, more streamlined productions!

Thanks for reading, and I hope this suggestion gets some love (and code)! Let’s make big spicy knobs a Cubase reality. :fire:

Best regards, A workflow- and macro-obsessed producer

While waiting for Steinberg to implement macro knobs, you could try Studio Rack by Waves. It has 8 of them and is free.

Thank you for your advice! Coincidentally I already have it - sadly it just works with waves plugins, right?

No, it works with any VST3 plugins.

Yep i am waiting this feature, be able to do some midi macro control inside Cubendo is long time wish.
But actually my go to plugin for midi modulation craziness (and macro) is MMM from gs-dsp, it’s free to.
