Make color choosable from right-click toolbar

Hi
I find the right-click toolbar very useful to quickly change the tools.
On those tools where there is another option you can choose by pressing that tool for longer. E.g. on the line tool you can choose sine or square and so on.

I would find it useful to have the color palette show up when I press the color tool (in the right-click toolbar) for longer.
So I would’t have to go up to the top of my screen with my mouse whenever I want to change the color of the color tool and then go down again to the event I wanted to color it with.
And since the other tools have their options too, I think this would make sense.

Hi,
you can set up a key command to get there (at least when it comes to tracks and events):

Edit/Preferences/Key Commands > Project > Set track and Event Color

If you set this up with a key command of your choice the color palette will hover right above the select element.

It is not exactly what you have been asking for but it is a nice workaround.

I find using shift+left click on the area of the track to the right of the automation drop down button to be the quickest way to color tracks. The color pallette is right there on the track I’m working on.

Yes true, that’s quick. But I was more looking on colouring events independendly from their tracks

Press Ctrl+Shift+C (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+C (Mac) to open the floating color palette is most likely the quickest way at this point.

@Resonant_Serpent Actually, that was my very first suggestion :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::

I pointed out that you could apply another key command to it if you are not to keen about using three fingers. What I didn’t mention:

If event(s) are selcected > the colour will be applied to the event(s).
If NO event(s) are selected > the colour will be applied to the selected track(s) and their events.

That should do pretty much what you are asking for apart from
