I had some tempo markers that I wanted to not show. So I changed the custom scale to 1. How can I put that back to 100; since they are invisible, I cannot select them.

Select the earliest one you can see, then do shift-ctrl-A (select more) a few times. You should then be able to change the scale property.
An alternative would be to select all and filter for Tempo.
Probably easiest to Select All and Filter for tempo marks. Then change the Scale properties.
Also: you can hide tempo marks by unchecking the boxes to show the text and/or metronome mark. No need to scale them to 1%.
