Making an automated Highpass Filter related to note played in Cubase?

If you have Cubase Pro 14 it can be done.
Let’s use the Low Cut filter from a channel’s Pre section.
You will also need to create a MIDI track for sending the MIDI data.

  1. load the modulator “ModScripter” onto your audio channel, where you want to perform the low cut.
  2. In ModScripter load the preset “MIDI Note Play Frequency”
  3. switch on the Low Cut filter in the channels’ Pre section.
  4. connect the ModScripter to the frequency setting of the Low Cut; set the connection to uni-polar, the value knob to the minimum position (here 20 Hz) and the depth to 100%
  5. create a MIDI track; set the track’s output to the ModScripter

Now the frequency of the low cut filter will follow what you play or send on the MIDI track.
