Making text appear in all parts

There must be a way to do this, but I’m not sure what category in the manual it would fall under, as it affects so many areas.

I have a mood indication (does not affect tempo) which I would like to have appear in a master orchestral score above the woodwinds and above the strings. Is there a way to make that indication appear above (say) every instrumental family (woodwind, brass, perc., stings etc.) and also appear in every single player’s part, so all players know what’s going on?

Can I use Shift-X (Mac) in Write mode to do this, or is there a better way? I’m guessing it involves pre-defining a mood ‘resource’ in the right hand panel somewhere.

Thank you.

Alt-shift-x is known as system text and is what you are looking for.

You can use Shift-Option-X (Mac) in Write mode to produce System text.
Then you can always hide it in any parts where you don’t want it.
Aagrh! you beat me to it, Marc!

Perfect. Thank you so much Marc & Andy.

How do you hide the text in any particular parts Andy?

You hide it using the property hide.

Thanks Janus.
