Management of 64bit and 32bit preference settings

Question: Does Cubase 6 64bit share it’s preferences with Cubase 6 32bit version? (they don’t seem to)

More importantly can they? I don’t like having to reconfigure each program every time I make a preference change.

Nope, they’re in separate folders, although some settings, such as presets, are interchangeable by copying over the XML files. But proceed with care…

Well… that’s stupid. Despite the OS thinking the programs are different, the end-user will use them identically. Couldn’t this be solved with a simple change in the code to point both programs to a single preference area or perhaps an option in Cubase to allow for preference synchronization?
