im on a short film project, video n music done… can i record my automation manually, meaning i record my automation/volume while playing the tracks… using my mouse to control the volume channel,i wonder if this is possible?
this would be great as i have to bring down the music in every dialog/spoken words.

I think your question should be “can I record my automation automatically”.

Just enable write on the channels you want to write automation, play back the track and wiggle whatever control you want to automate during playback and that will be saved 
.
You can then show the automation lane in the project window and make edits to your automation if you wish.
