Manual control of Cubase defaults anyone? XML arcanum

Used Cubase a long time & there are many things I’d love to automate or at worse have set to a certain default in its settings. Are there any resources for the xml files in the appdata folder in how to edit them to achieve this? A few below…

* Defaults.xml
* Cubase Pro Module Cache.xml
* Default Project Workspace.xml
* UserPreferences.xml

and so on… I simply want to be able to set certain things to always default to x or y. For e,g,

  1. New parts/events don’t default to follow Global Transpose FOLLOW
  2. New audio channels default to -12 dB for e.g. pre-gain
  3. New audio parts to always default to Musical Mode MUSICAL
    and so on…

Anyone know of any resources or have experience with this?

Genuinely feel, though this may be somewhat niche, the subject could be is of real value to many.

Bump

Bumping this post.

Hi,

This is the most detailed source of information about Cubase preferences, I know.

Hi Martin, thanks, though you may have misunderstood? As I had originally asked:

are there any resources for the xml files in the appdata folder in how to edit them to achieve this? A few below…

Then gave some examples of the tags/fields I wanted to know about… The link you shared is one I know about, though broadly helpful, it doesn’t appear to quite answer my OP. It points to what some of the documents do, but not the tags/code within them.

To reiterate, I’m simply asking does anyone have knowledge of the keys/tags contained in - for e.g. - contained in the below xml files

I’d love more customization (I might not be alone), and also to know what I can and can’t control via these, for e.g. to do the below

I guess my last bump(?)

I surely can’t be the only one who’d benefit from more info on this…(?) :neutral_face:

Hi,

Surely not. But the info is just not there.

Ok thanks.

I rarely see them surface, but any chance any developers have something on it? Could you maybe reach out to one?
