Mapping Mute/Solo button to Refference?

Hello everyone!

Is it possible to map a button to a specific track (a reference), so that every time I press the mapped button, the rest of the tracks go into Mute mode, and the reference track is set to Solo? And when I press the button again, the reference track goes to Mute and the rest of the tracks return to normal?

This would be very helpful to speed up the process when comparing my song with the reference track.

Thank you!

Yes you can pretty much do that via a command in the Project Logical Editor. I just tried it.

Name your track according to what is convenient, say “REF”. Then set your PLE so that the first section reads:

Media Type is - Equal - Audio
Name - Equal - REF (or whatever you choose)

Next section:

Track Operation - Solo - Toggle

That should be it. Keep your REF track always muted. When you trigger the PLE it should find your track and enable solo which should mute everything else, and when you trigger the command a second time it should undo/toggle it back from solo so it mutes again (its previous state).

great solution with the PLE!! :+1:
this can be also useful for other scenarios, i´m going to save this as a prest

another option would be the use of Cubase Control Room and Cue 1,
You send the audio of the reference track to Cue 1,

and then with one one button on your keyboard you can toggle between the regular mix and the Cue 1 Signal

this will not alter your current mute/solo states, in case you have some tracks muted on purpose
