The Media Bay Search Bar loses Keyboard focus while typing a search word,
and the focus shifts to the cubase timeline, so I can’t finish writing the word and accidentally press shortcuts on the timeline. This happens a lot, every other time I try to search something. I then have to spell the word out letter by letter and check every time where the keyboard focus is.
This is incredibly frustrating.

using the MacBook keyboard and a MX Master 2S mouse if that’s relevant.
By disabeling the AUTOPLAY function the search bar input field stays in focus and you can keep on typing the search word.
I then use SHIFT + NUM ENTER to play a sample and SHIFT + NUM 0 to stop and CURSOR UP / DOWN to select sample from list.
Hi sdk….disabling autoplay in the mediabay works for me, however the key commands to play and stop files do not (mac, C14, Sequoia). Did you create these key commands and if so what are the key command descriptions I’m looking for? Nothing seems obvious in the key commands setup. Many thanks.
Under Nuendo > Keycommands expand the section “Media” and you can set the commands for start preview , stop preview and much more (concerning MediaBay).
I use the german version - but i’m quite sure in enlish the section should be named “Media”.
I still have one problem: when select samples with cursor up / down, in the background Nuendo selects simultanously the next / previous channel . . Maybe I have to set extra keycommands for that too - but i’m running out of free keys.
found it - many thanks sdk! Yes, I have the same issue with up and down keys moving tracks as well as samples - not great behaviour. Tab for changing screen focus doesn’t seem to do anything either when the media bay is open.
