MediaBay isn't recognizing files properly

I’ve been struggling with this issue for the past few days and it’s really giving me a headache.

Recently, I started using MediaBay quite extensively. I tried deleting the MediaBay DB file and rescanning, but the problem persists. As you can see, the waveform doesn’t show up in the Previewer, and I can’t import these files onto a track.

The files themselves seem fine because they work perfectly when I move or drag them via Windows Explorer. Does anyone know what the problem might be? It’s not happening to all my files, but a significant number of them are not being recognized like this.

Filename length over 255 characters (incl. pathname limits)?
These look like UCS compatible files but the I can’t see how long the filenames are.
Are they wav of flac?
Flac files are not supported in mediabay,iirc.

other than that.. they could be links to files and not real files.. windows can do that I think.
