Mediabay issue (not the first time)

Hi everyone,

I wish I could learn to appreciate MediaBay but I sincerely really struggle to do it…

Today I was searching for some files that I know are present in my hard disk(s) but in the right zone browser I could see some folder (on an external hard drive) but empty so I opened Media Bay main window and those folders and others were completely missing…

Tried:

  • close C14 and restart it
  • deleting mediabay.db from pref folder
  • copying it from a backup
  • unchecking the box relative to the folder…
  • refreshing views

anything worked…

Any other way to solve? I’m very frustrated…

Thanks,

Art

In Cubase, if MediaBay doesn’t show files, make sure the folder is correctly added in MediaBay’s Locations tab and scanned. Close Cubase, then delete the MediaBay cache (mediabay.db) again and restart. Also, check that the external drive is fully mounted and accessible, and that file permissions allow Cubase to read them. If it still fails, re-index the folder manually from MediaBay.

Hi @Levon1 ,

thank you for answering!

How I wrote, I tried a lot of things, included deleting medially.db, unmounting external disk and replugging them, etc.

I also changed Mediabay settings as in the attached pictures

and the right zone file browser is showing the folder that are missing in MediaBay

when I finally start external hd rescanning it seems to get stuck and if I tried to expand the tree the coloured balloon appears… This happened a lot of time and I don’t know what the … to try more than this…

I’ve tried quite everything I’ve found but Mediabay continues to get stuck and Cubase stop answering… :sob: (and/or  )
