Since i installed C14 i have the following error-messages in download-assistant (see pictures)
The actual MediaBay installer does not work.
MediaBay can neither be removed nor updated. The original installer demands mediabay.msi 1.1.30 which is no longer in the specified temp-folder anymore.
Does anyone happen to have this installer as a download ?
I can not find mediabay installers on steinberg ftp.
OR
What do i have to remove (regedit) to perform a new clean install ?
Hello, I got the DA to start, but nothing can be installed.
Maybe I didn’t express it correctly, but Mediabay.dll and/or its components seem to be broken. This is the reason why the other error message appears when starting Cubase or Nuendo. To get rid of the other error messages, I renamed mediaclient.dll to mediaclient.dlx.
Previously I tried to install mediabay using the separate installer, but it is newer than the original installer (1.1.30) and will refuse to work.
With the 1.1.30 installer I could at least try to uninstall the old version. This is probably a case for someone from Steinberg who has access to it.
Of course I would prefer if someone could tell me how to manually remove mediabay completely with all regedit entries to reinstall it.
Trying to uninstall or update Mediabay with 1.2.20 i get the following message:
I would suggest using the Programs and Features control panel to uninstall, and if that fails to use a utility such as HiBit uninstaller to force the uninstall, and then try again. I personally would not give any info on deleting regedit entries since there’s no way to actually verifiy that it would be complete and corredt.
Hi, as I wrote before - I already tried to remove it directly (via the Programs and Features control panel), so I found out that 1.1.30 is required as the original uninstall/installer. (error code 1612). Steinberg Downloads ONLY gives you 1.2.20.
Are you sure that HiBit can remove ALL those things in retrospect without the original installer ? How will HiBit know what components belong to mediabay? I’ve never had any real luck with uninstallers in the past.
