I select one (or two) vocal tracks, then add Melodyne extension. The Melodyne window appears, but events are grayed out and uneditable. No idea how to fix it. Help appreciated
Are they greyed out in the melodyn extension?
If so you need to make the one you want to edit active in melodyne
The general rule is Coloured waveforms you can edit
Grey you cant
There is too much to cover here on a steinberg forum so visit melodyne for great tutorials

Typically, when I add the Melodyne (Studio 5) extension to multiple clips (which would usually be on multiple tracks – e.g. all background vocal parts for a chorus), it comes up with all tracks selected and editable (orange notes). I’ll usually then click the gray selector for one of those, which then changes them all to gray, then select only the one(s) I want to edit on at the moment by clicking on its orange selector in that area of the user interface. (I like to have the other tracks showing in gray for reference, though they could also be made invisible by not having them in gray or orange.)
Just thinking out loud about why it might come up opposite for you, the possibilities I can think of are if the clips you are adding the extension to are locked in some way (e.g. on frozen tracks – not sure if Cubase even gives you the option to add an extension in that case) or if you have a version of Melodyne that doesn’t allow editing multiple tracks in parallel (I think only the Studio version allows that). If it is the latter, maybe you can only select clips on one track at a time in Cubase to work on despite being able to add the extension to clips on multiple tracks in one go?
I’ve got Studio Melodyne. And it’s happening even if only choose ONE track. Something is cattywampus.
It sounds like its in trial mode
"When your Melodyne trial ends, the editing functionality is locked, and the software reverts to “Melodyne Player”, allowing playback only without any further editing capabilities.
ie greyed out
Definitely not trial mode. I purchased it.
Try an uninstall and reinstall is all I can think of.
I can force demo mode also if I pull out my ilock key so that my be worth a check if you use that method of licience.
I also had issues with Melodyne (don’t remember which ones exactly). The solution was, that I should have installed Melodyne with administrator rights. After that, everything worked
