Hi… I have a percussion part … in the middle of each of the two systems, you can see there are added notes for ensemble hits.. however, in doing so, it adds undesired rests.
How should I be going about this?
Another option would be to use real cues from some ensemble instrument. Shift-U and the instrument name. Here, a trumpet, but changed the cue text to brass.
With cues, you can hide rests around them.

Doesn’t the “starts voice”, “ends voice” property work for this?
Indeed, it should, just thought the cue approach looks better.

Thx for the suggestion @jesele .. however, I’m struggling.
I have tried separating my ‘cue’ notes… keeping the main drum set part in player Drum Set 1… and moving the fill/cues to player Fills.
I’m not able to figure out how to get the fill cues to show up on the Drum Set 1 player’s part.

I meant cues from some other instrument, the brass or saxes, and leave the exact drums to play up to the drummer. If you want an exact notation, you’d better off with your original way, to notate the fills in the drums. Then, if you use Edit->Remove Rests, the bars will get squashed, so better to select the rests and set the color opacity (alpha channel) to zero in the properties panel.

Had to remove some colored lines.

You could perhaps use Slash Regions instead of Bar Repeat Regions?
