In Wavelab 9.5:
- In the Master Section, set the Master Level to 0 dB;
- Open an audio montage;
- Add a track;
- Insert an audio file;
- Adjust the clip volume to output a peak level above 0 dB;
- Select Process > Meta Normalizer > Master Section Output > Do Not Change Loudness > Limit True Peaks > Maximum Peak 0.00 dB;
- Hit Apply.
Result: the Meta Normalizer performs a calculation, yet fails to adjust the Master Level which stays at 0 dB.
Now set the Master Level to a negative value (i.e. bellow 0 dB) and repeat steps 1–7.
Result: the Meta Normalizer performs a calculation and adjusts the Master Level to an appropriate value.
