Metronome click no sound C14/C13

Hi all!

Just updated to C14 a couple days ago and noticed the metronome has no sound when turned on. All the settings (Transport-Metronome Setup) AND the Control Room toggle are correct but I still get no sound. And what’s worse, when I opened C13, the metronome sound is gone there too. I’m quite desperate as I need the click for a lot of my work.
Anyone has a possible solution?

I’m on a Mac, Monterey and Sonoma (two different computers, the same issue)

It might be turned off in the Control Room??

In the metronome setup , there is an option Audio Click Output and a dropdown menu to choose where the metronome sound should be sent to. It happened to me also after the upgrade have to enable that every time I start a new project or make a template with it enabled.

Good observation. Thanks !

I’m suddenly facing the same problem now. Cubase Pro 14. All things look properly set up and in order, but the metronome remains silent. I guess I won’t be using it then.
EDIT: after going through everything again, I found another metronome button on the Control Room panel on the right. Jeez… I never knew about that one in all these years, I guess it was always turned on.

I just found out that the click doesn’t work if the Monitor is set to my interface in Audio Connections. You can’t have Stereo Out in Outputs and Monitor set to the interface at the same time. If it’s on Stereo Out, then I can hear the metronome, but if the Monitor is set to the interface, the metronome isn’t audible — but everything else can be heard. I can’t remember older Cubase had this moment but i am newbie
