Just updated to C14 a couple days ago and noticed the metronome has no sound when turned on. All the settings (Transport-Metronome Setup) AND the Control Room toggle are correct but I still get no sound. And what’s worse, when I opened C13, the metronome sound is gone there too. I’m quite desperate as I need the click for a lot of my work.
Anyone has a possible solution?
I’m on a Mac, Monterey and Sonoma (two different computers, the same issue)
In the metronome setup , there is an option Audio Click Output and a dropdown menu to choose where the metronome sound should be sent to. It happened to me also after the upgrade have to enable that every time I start a new project or make a template with it enabled.
I’m suddenly facing the same problem now. Cubase Pro 14. All things look properly set up and in order, but the metronome remains silent. I guess I won’t be using it then.
EDIT: after going through everything again, I found another metronome button on the Control Room panel on the right. Jeez… I never knew about that one in all these years, I guess it was always turned on.
I just found out that the click doesn’t work if the Monitor is set to my interface in Audio Connections. You can’t have Stereo Out in Outputs and Monitor set to the interface at the same time. If it’s on Stereo Out, then I can hear the metronome, but if the Monitor is set to the interface, the metronome isn’t audible — but everything else can be heard. I can’t remember older Cubase had this moment but i am newbie
I had the same silent click issue after update today to 14.0.31 and it was another item in the metronome settings dialogues called ‘Click options’:
Click while recording
Click while playing
During count-in
and these were all had been unticked - maybe cos it was a brand new project not a template but I thought metronome was a global thing.
Anyway, no biggy, just thought I’d post to help any others reading this thread.
Same here, I cannot hear the metronome with assigned Monitor and Output at the same time.. I got a reply from steinberg that I should disconnect Output (Strereo Output) but with this setting, I don’t hear anything at all. Could someone please provide a solusion? Thanks
I had the same issue when control room is connected. In the control room menu under main is an option to highlight metronome. Once activated it works even under control room and audio outputs not connected
