On previous versions I could route the click to an output but now it seems that there is no routing options to send it to an audio output in Nuendo 14
Hi,
What do you mean by the Audio Output?
You can Enable/Disable Click on the Monitor Busses, and also on every single Cue Bus.
Thanks Martin. I was able to choose an audio output channel as a dedicated channel in previous versions for the click. There doesn’t seem to be a click box now in the audio connection section.
Hi,
Do you mean the Output Bus in the Studio > Audio Connections > Outputs?
You can do so in the Transport > Metronome Setup > General > Click Destinations > Audio Click Outputs.

Unfortunately, these don’t actually go through the output channels. They somehow get directly routed to the physical outputs? I used to be able send the click to an output bus and add insert fx/eq etc. But now the signal doesn’t actually go through the bus channel so I can’t alter it.
Hi,
Do you want to print the Click to an Audio Track?
no. I want it to still be connected to the tempo track so I can still make tempo changes etc. Printing the click as audio locks me in. It was routed to an output channel until N13. Then it suddenly just magically appears at the converter output, without going through an output channel’s fader and eq etc..
Hi,
- Add an Output bus in the Audio Connections > Outputs. Name it Click Bus. Route the Click into this track.
- Add an Audio Track. Route it’s output to other, but the Click Output.
- Set the Click Bus as an Input of the new Audio Track.
Hello,
This is interesting. For some reason I didn’t have anything showing in the AUDIO CLICK OUTPUTS for a destination. There just wasn’t any options on assigning an output. But then I added some tracks for a dedicated click track then somehow the options appeared to route to those new tracks for the click. The tracks that were already on the project were not there (and still are not) but the newly created tracks show up for an assignment choice. I am still trying to discover why the existing tracks were not available as a click output since some of them had no program content on the project. (empty tracks)
The only thing I can think of is that those tracks were built with Nuendo 13 and possibly these click output tracks need to be programmed with N14 in order to be recognized? So it looks like I now have the ability to use a track as a click track output.
Thanks, much appreciated
Hi,
Could you attach a screenshot of the routing (MixConsole), please?
Martin,
As I stated in my previous post my click is operational and working fine. As requested I am attaching a screenshot of my mix console that shows the right most tracks as click TB and program playback. Is this what you requested?
Hi,
Sorry, we don’t see the Routing table expanded. And also there is no Click Audio track.
If you look at the top margin of the mixconsole you will see 3 tracks on the right that are titled TB Click and Playback. Thos tracks are coming from different routings. But the Click that you are asking about originates from the Transport… Metronome setup.. and this pop up window that I just uploaded. These selections that are available on this small window were not available before I generated the new tracks with N14. Any of the tracks that were generated previously with N13 did not show here. (See the uploaded screenshot from today)
These newly generated tracks are now available here.
Hi,
These are not Tracks, these are Output Buses.
Please, follow my instructions.
Is there a down side for using an output bus? It seems to erve the purpose but maybe I’m overlooking something.?
Hi,
No, there is not. You have asked for an Audio Track.
The main point I was asking was is it possible that only N14 tracks are showing up as a selection in the metronome routing assignment section. If that’s the case then others could benefit by knowing this limitation. Otherwise I wanted to know if it’s specific to my setup. (others can assign earlier version tracks for the metronome output)
It would be something I would investigate i.e. reinstall etc
Hi,
No. There are no Tracks. There are Output Buses. Same as it was in previous Cubase/Nuendo versions.
Anything else that I route to an output bus, I can control with the output bus’s channel settings. Not so with metronome click. Why does it bypass the output bus’s inserts and eq etc now? (Since N13)
