Microphone input level too low

Hi, I’ve been having this problem, I can get singal out of my interface, but the level in cubase is way too low, even if I maxed out the input on my interface. Also there is crazy amount of latency.
I’ve tried all the input/output routings and change the asio driver, non of them fix the issue, I also tried change the channel, change the microphone.

Thanks.

Usually that would be a case for an adequate microphone pre-amp. But you can also increase the Gain setting on the Input Bus in Cubase.

Thanks! but I’m on PC, I don’t have that option in my cubase tho…

I had no idea I am not on PC. Every time I boot my computer it shows me the Windows logo.

Seriously, you could let us know which version of Cubase you have (and which level, ie. Pro, Artist, Elements,…) and which audio interface.

I’m on Cubase 13 pro, and im using focusrite 2i2.

For most (all?) interfaces the output level is determined by the interface itself. Also mics put out pretty low & highly variable between models signal levels so you’d need to adjust that using the interface’s preamp, or potentially an external preamp if the interface isn’t up to the task.

And I see JM is on the case…

Thanks, I found it, lol

Yup, pre gain solved it, lol
