I am new to Dorico. I already used Sibelius, Lilypond, MuseScore, Mus2 and others earlier.
I was impressed by the excellent features and easy of use of Dorico, but unfortunately, I was shocked that the microtonals, accidentals and Tonality Systems are not included on the iPad, while it was declared that it is the same code base of the Dorico Pro for the Desktop.
This is really an important feature to many musicians, educators and composers. The workaround of importing a Dorito Pro file with microtonality might not be practical, especially, for those who solely use the one version of the iPad.
Would you please let us know when is the plan to incorporate such features on the iPad version.
The other notation systems, are not providing any mobile version at this level of being comprehensive.
Welcome to the forum, Fadil, and thanks for your feedback.
Dorico for iPad has broadly the same feature set as the desktop Dorico SE when you use it without a subscription or the Lifetime Unlock in-app purchase, and broadly the same feature set as Dorico Elements when you have a subscription or the Lifetime Unlock.
At the present time, Dorico Pro is the only version of the software that provides support for custom tonality systems. However, I am sympathetic to the view that using extended tonality is something that is not optional for certain kinds of music, and that we should consider broadening access to these features. We’ll definitely give this serious consideration for the future.
