Midi Clock not syncing with song tempo

Hi,

So I’m having a strange issue in vst live. This Is the first time using and I’ve programmed all our songs.

We have a fairly simple setup:

Clicks (vst instrument)
Cues (vst instrument)
Sample track (+/- any additional ones depending on the song)
Video track
Midi track for controlling expression pedal to line 6 helix (depending on song)

Layers setup to change patches to 2 helix pedals depending on the part in the song.

No issues with audio routing.
No issues with patch changes or expression pedal control
No tempo tracks at all.

Main issue is the midi clock is not sending the tempo of the song properly. I have the midi out of the audio interface to send the midi clock but the tempo is not matched with the tempo of the song. This causes the delay effects on the guitar to be off. Noticed on clean sections of songs where the guitar delay is out of time.

This Is the first run through of the set we played as a band and we had to tap tempo manually as a result.

We previously used Ableton live and had no issues sending the clock over midi so I’m wondering if I have missed something. (I’m fine if it’s user error I just want to know what I’ve missed)

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Also are you sure that the external device is actually receiving the clock?

Did you define in VSTL the destination of the midi clock ?

I can confirm it is receiving the clock on our helix pedals as when it is recieving the clock the tap tempo button colour changes from red to blue.

I specified the midi out to send to for the midi clock also as disabling it for the practice allowed us to manually tap the tempo for each song.

It seems to receive some sort of midi clock and it’s almost as if it speeds goes slow to fast constantly.

I’m not sure if there is a way to monitor the clock somehow to see what tempo the device is receiving from vst live may help me to troubleshoot

or what tempo the helix is receiving.

I can look into if the helix has anything that will tell me what midi clock is being received.

So you are dynamically changing the tempo/clock?
Does it work when you just play back at constant tempo?
