MIDI controllers messed up in Cubase 12

Hi there,

When I play my Arturia synths directly all MIDI controllers like modulation wheel, work perfectly. However in Cubase 12 the mod wheel is controlling other parameters and I can’t record them either.

In older Cubase versions it seem to work flawlessly.

Any ideas? Thank you! :hugs:

Hi,

What hardware MIDI controller do you use? Or do you send the data from the MIDI Track?

I use an Arturia Keystep.

Hi,

OK, this means no MIDI Remote script, right?

I have no idea. I use Cubase for 30 years now and never encountered this kind of problem. Recording a midi controller used to be easy in the Atari days!

I just want the modulation wheel to be recorded. How to find the modulation wheel in the Functions Browser?

Using CC1 as a search string doesn’t work either:

Hi,

MIDI Remote is here to be able to control Cubase from your hardware. I don’t think this is what you are searching for. I was asking to make sure the MIDI Remote doesn’t filter the MIDI Messages.

Could you try in Cubase Safe Start Mode > Disable Preferences, please?

Somehow I can not start in Safe Mode using Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-Alt/Opt. No dialogue window appears.
Is there another trick?

(and thank you Martin!)

Hi,

Be faster. Press the modifiers immediately after you double-click Cubase icon.

Other way would be to delete (or rename) the preferences folder.

Seems like the wrong dialogue window…

I don’t know what happened but suddenly I can record my mod wheel again. I ran into other strange behaviour but will open dedicated tickets for these.

Thank you Martin!
