Summary/Title
MIDI Editor: Pinch-to-zoom position is inverted. -
Description
I finally figured out why the vertical zooming is so wonky in the MIDI Editor. The vertical location of your fingers when doing a vertical pinch or spread is detected incorrectly. For example, if you place your fingers 25% from the top of the window and pinch or spread them to do a vertical zoom, the zooming will be centered at 75% from the top of the window (25% from the bottom) rather than under your fingers. -
Expected Results
Vertical zooming of the MIDI Editor should be centered on the part of the screen where you pinch or spread your fingers. -
Actual Results
Vertical zooming is not centered at your fingers unless you happen to pinch or spread exactly in the vertical center of the window. -
Environment
M1 iPad Pro, iPadOS 26.4.1
Good observation!
I guess this happens because Cubasis detects the pinch gesture anywhere in the piano-roll view and then zooms from the center, same goes for horizontal zoom.
Vertical pinch-zoom in the arranger is also something I sometimes accidentally do and it’s also a bit wonky until I remember it’s better to use the zoom handles…
Hi @TimClark
Thanks for your report!
The issue is planned to be resolved in the next Cubasis update (though it may still take some time until it is released).
Best,
Lars
