MIDI Editor zooming

Hello,

when I open the MIDI editor, for a part say consisting of 4 bars, it automatically zoom on a bigger amount of bars. So I always need to press shift+E in order to zoom to the 4 bars I am working on.

Its very annoying to keep spending time finding the right zoom. Becuase the MIDi editor can potentially encompass the entire song at full horizontal zoom settings, it is hard to center and in general to edit it.

Is there a way to avoid the MIDI editor to encompass the entire song at full horizontal zoom settings? I mean, is there some preference to set the MIDI editor in a way that at maximum horizontal zoom it will show the entire part and not more than that?

I can appreciate this request, if there isn’t already a way to do it.

I have this problem as well, but just always dealt with it.

Can you FR this thread?

thanks for understanding mpayne! Asked about this previously elsewhere, but nobody ever replied or seemed to be bothered.

Nice to see I am not the only one being annoyed by certain things. I think this is more than a “minor” issue.

Also, as far as I remember, earlier versions of Cubase behaved in the way I would prefer.

What does “FR” means?
