Midi event disappears when I click on it

When editing a midi string track in the midi editor, clicking on a midi note (event) deletes it. I then need to click Ctrl+Z to undelete it and move on. Really stops the flow. I’ve scoured all midi stuff in preferences, but don’t see a solution. Any thoughts? What am I missing?

Cubase Pro 14

Since your question is really about Cubase & not Halion you should probably edit your Title & change the tags to indicate that.

I put it on the VST forum because the midi track I’m using is a Halion VST. I’ll do as you say and put it on the Cubase forum.

I’ve had it happen as well with other instruments in the Midi Editor…click to choose a note and it deletes it, to be on the safe side I try to use a selection starting off the note and drag over it, that seems to always work

Are you certain that your not accidentally sometimes double-clicking? I ask because deleting is the default behavior for that in the Key Editor. You can turn it off though

Click on the e ( image ) to switch it to open the Note Expression editor.
