Midi event/note disappears when editing

When working on a midi string track (Halion VST) in the midi editor, clicking on a midi note/event sometimes deletes it. I then need to click Ctrl+Z to undelete it and move on. Really stops the flow. I’ve scoured all midi stuff in preferences, but don’t see a solution. Any thoughts? What am I missing?

Are you certain that your not accidentally sometimes double-clicking? I ask because deleting is the default behavior for that in the Key Editor. You can turn it off though

Click on the e ( image ) to switch it to open the Note Expression editor.
