When adding Instrument or Midi tracks (especially Instrument tracks expecting an MPE controller) it would speed up the workflow to provide the options to select the Midi device and Channels on this dialog.
As I was working on a project, I was just thinking the exact same thing and thought I would post it and then subsequently ran across this post. Thanks for mentioning this! When opening the ‘+ Audio Track’ dialog, one is given the opportunity to specify input and output. With the ‘+ MIDI Track’ dialog, why are the same options not presented? That should include the MIDI input device, the MIDI output device and the MIDI channel.
