I know this is a much asked question, but can anyone recommend a keyboard/controller for Cubase and the other Steinberg instruments? At present I’m using a Komplete Kontrol M32 but would like to simplify things and have a keyboard that’s not tied to Native Instruments (I don’t much like the Komplete Kontrol wrapper)
Can you give a few more specifics?
How many keys, velocity-sensitive?
MPC pads?
Assignable endless knobs?
The list goes on…
Thanks yes - ideal requirements are:
49 velocity sensitive keys (after touch would be nice)
16 touch sensitive pads
8 or 9 faders
8 continuous assignable knobs
Transport controls
Easy integration with Cubase.
Maybe have a look at the Nektar P6
Great Cubase integration.
I’ve been using Native Instruments controllers for years without using Komplete Kontrol very much. The only reason I’ve been using Komplete Kontrol is for configuring the keyboard’s MIDI features and very occasionally for auditioning sounds. Once I found sounds I just used the plugin straight with Cubase.
Thanks both, the Nektar looks well worth exploring, but maybe I should look more closely at using the M32 direct with Kontakt etc as well.
