MIDI Local

Hi Steinberg and Forum!

Quick question (though i’m fairly sure of the answer is “no”).

Is it possible to define a pair of MIDI I/O in Cubase, when selected in combination will disable midi input through (aka ‘monitoring’). An example of how i’d like it to work:

Playing IN: Keyboard A to OUT: Keyboard B will pass midi through Cubase, but playing IN: Keyboard A to OUT: Keyboard A will not pass midi data. This would be a great aid, since some of my keyboards do not have a Local function (eg. an old Jupiter 8 with very rudimentary midi).

Right now for me the only solution is to disable the output when playing from the same keyboard-input to output.

Create 2 MIDI tracks
Select A as Input for 1:st track
Select A as Output for 1:st track
Verify Track #1’s MONITOR button IS NOT active
Select B as Input for 2:nd track
Select B as Output for 2:nd track
Verify Track #2’s MONITOR button IS active
