EDIT: Additional to below. I have narrowed down the problem to 16th notes drawn in (either via an imported file or directly in VST Live) that are on the same note. If I have two notes in a row then the 2nd one is not sounding, regardless of instrument fairly regularly but not consistently.
I have a 16th note pattern that is missing approximately every 6th to 10th note, but seemingly at random.
Initially it was from a previously working project, but I have created a new project to deal with the issue. I have tried programming a new midi part for it in VST Live, tried different assigned instruments and tried importing a midi part from Cubase too. All get the same result of dropping random notes.
I feel I must be missing something obvious.
Latest pre-release version installed on a MacBook, plenty of RAM, no other performance issues, all audio running smoothly.
… can you please create a simple project for us to get it analysed? Something like
Start VL
Select TRACKS
Add MIDI Track
Add Retrologue
Add Clip from 1.1 to 2.1
Draw 16th notes
Now Drop outs are already there? Then please export the project as an archive “Menu / File / Save archive …” to an empty folder. Zip that folder and drop it here.
We found the issue. If the same note is repeated at the same time the previous one ends, the Note On of the 2nd note is sent before Note Off, so you get 2 Note On, then 2 Note Off. Fixed with the next version. As a workaround you can shorten the length of the first note by some minimal amount. Thanks for the project!
Glad to know I wasn’t doing something weird! I have used to workaround and all seems ok for now. Thanks for keeping me updated and fixing this quickly for the next release.
