How do I move the ends of one chord and the beginning of the next chord together? Basically moving the change-over point…
Not in one step.
For overlapping notes:
- select the notes where you want to change the start point and change their start points
- select notes from step 1 and the notes whose end points ought to be adjusted
- use “Delete Overlaps (poly)”
To fill up gaps:
- select the notes where you want to change the start point and change their start points
- select only the notes whose end points need to be adjusted
- use “Apply Legato” from the same section in the screenshot above
It seems it’s just going to be quicker to drag all the ends I need moved.
Sorry, just to understand, do you mean the notes from the chord before, overlap with the chord that comes after?
I have seen the requested feature on video editing software. With video it is usually bad to have “nothing” but in music the pauses are as important as the notes. I guess that is why the necessary feature (or mode) is not present in Cubase as a one-click solution.
CUBASE - Is this every going to be implemented? Studio One has had it for years, and its been a critical part of my composing work flow. I switched back to CB14 after years of enjoying the features of Studio One and continue to scratch my head at how far behind CB is with quality of life features. In S1, you simply grab the end of one note in the midi editor, or the start of the next note, hold down Alt, and slide left or right, The end or one note and the start of the next note move together.
I know… rocket science, right… Maybe you can catch up and try implementing it. I bet you could even find a junior intern programmer to handle it for you since its been years and the senior guys can’t seem to figure it out.
