MIDI Piano: How do I change my mind about a slow down (Time Warp)

Hi -

Can someone offer a suggestion or two here please?

I have a freely played MIDI piano (i.e., not played to a click track), almost completely very close to 120 BPM, and I’ve created a tempo map for the whole song using Time Warp.

The troublesome part to me is that there is a part in the middle I gradually slowed down significantly over two measures to about 80 BPM (Bars 41 and 42 in the attached), and this is part of the Time Warp-created tempo map.

I’ve changed my mind creatively, and want to have the slow down only take place in the last measure of the two only (Bar 42), and actually not really a slow down but rather to add an extra bar at 120 BPM at the end of Bar 42 before continuing with the rest of the song.

That’s where I’m having problems … I tried to erase the slowed down Time Warp tempo points in Bars 41 and 42, but find that Bar 40 then gets slowed down as well (which I don’t want).

Could someone please suggest a workflow to get this all done?

Thank you!

Hey, I figured it out!

  1. Make the changes in the Tempo Track page (opened with CTRL-T) rather than the Project Page - I just deleted all the slow tempos in Bars 41 and 42 in the Tempo Track Page
  2. I then Insert Silence’d 1 bar at Bar 43

Posting this just for anyone that may come along later with a similar problem.
