Hi!
Whenever I get into Cubase, my Akai MPK Mini Mk3 pads work, but not my piano…it shows its playing, but I cannot hear it.

Hi,
can you try to set your MIDI inputs of that instrument track to “All MIDI Inputs”?
Does that work?
No, It doesnt work.
Can you upload a screenshot of the instrument and its routing, please?
Do you see the MPK in the lower zone under the tab Remote?
What is “my piano”?
I guess the OP is referring to the actual keys of the MPK. Maybe I was barking up the wrong tree.
Yes, I see it.
My bad! I meant the keys.
There is no preset loaded into Halion Sonic as per your screenshot. That would explain why there is no sound.
Hi,
The MIDI Input device is not set to All MIDI Inputs. It’s set to MPC mini 3. Please, use the All MIDI Inputs.
Ive already tried that only the pads work not the keys
Still doesnt work.
Open Halion and look at the left of the slots for each channel while you hit the keys (and pads).
Do you see any number on the left there flashing for each of them?
Yes, it flashes when I hit keys and pads, but no sound comes out of the keys.
Try the instrument Retrologue instead of Halion Sonic.
Any sound with this one?
Which number though…. And same for pads and keys or not??
Hi,
do you use the pads to trigger commands or to trigger MIDI notes? You can switch between these options on the MPK.
Which leads me to the next question: do you hear the instrument if you press the pads? And no sound if you press the keys?
Is the transpose button lit up on your mpk? Maybe the two octaves trigger notes outside of the playable range?
Might sound silly but I remember a case where a few keys of the MPK 3 were broke after a couple of months. Have you tried all keys?
I don’t think I have it, can’t find it.
