MIDI precision copy/paste & align

I’ve been using Cubase 7.5 for a long time now. I got into a situation where I would like to copy a bunch of notes and paste at a location rather precisely. So is the case with alignment esp horizontally.

For now I take not of the location based on the bar at the top, move the cursor over there and paste it. Is there an alternative way of doing it ?

How can I use the quantize features so that I can actually make sure the little gaps that come along in a MIDI segment which encases loops don’t get that little extra annoying time lag ?

Read up on the different snap settings, I think that’s what you’re looking for.

If you have a bunch of notes and you’re snap is set to measures you need to have a note right at the beginning.

Even if you have to add a note then delete it later.

I’ve had some problems like that.

I think Tacman7’s post “touches” upon the solution, but while you are checking out the Snap Settings, take a particular look at “Relative Grid”.
