Midi remote motorised faders not working

Hi,

As far as I can see, Fader position is not received. So if you change the volume in Cubase, the hardware is not in sync anymore.

But I was talking about Cubase.

Can you use any MIDI Monitor application to find out, if the hardware sends the touch fader messages, please?

Hi again Martin,
I setup a midi monitor, and here is what comes from the desk when I move faders 1,then 2, then, 3, then 4 up a little.

Hi,

OK, there is no rich fader message.

But as I wrote, you should enable Fader receive to keep the hardware in sync.

Hi again,
Correct - but if I do the faders lock up!

Thanks
Pauly

Hi,

Then I’m afraid, you are affected by the issue Nico5 linked.

… and after some testing of the new 12.0.10 release I’m afraid (and quite disappointed), that it does not seem to solve the problem:

Hi,

Confirming the issue is not resolved with 12.10. Bummer.

So… from here what happens?
Are the Steinberg team looking at this issue? It would be good to know if there’s a plan and a way forward with this.
Thanks
Pauly

Still not fixed with 12.0.20
Here’s a video of the fader behaviour;

Hi @Pauly, please stick to the “good old” Mackie HUI or Mackie Control integration. We will address the issue regarding motorised faders within the next couple of months.

Hi Again,
With great hope I installed 12.0.30.
I can report it’s not fixed in 12:0.30

Pauly

Can you use the MAckie control protocol??

HI @Pablin_Drummer
Yes that works however ultra-limited by only 8 channels accessible at a time, and the multi layered approach that forces. I find it unworkable.
To have 16 physical faders with pan and mute buttons available on the console, in sync with Cubase will be a game changer for my mixing and make it a much more pleasurable (and spontaneous/musical) experience.
Joel has said it’ll be fixed so I’m so looking forward to doing my first mix with the console!
Thanks
Pauly

but if you have more faders, it doesn’t recognize them by banks of 8? as if they were independent? that is, you would have to add another mackie control and put the 2 bank of faders. I’d have to see the manual to confirm.

for example, with the old tascam it was done like this.

Maybe this video helps you

Hi Pablin,

Thanks but that’s not a solution for me. Im looking forward to having more than 8 faders available when mixing.
Thanks
Pauly

Hi Jochen,
How’s this going - any progress?
Thanks
Pauly

Hi Jochen,

Has there been any progress on this issue? I see it’s still not resolved in .40
Thanks
Pauly

Hi @Pauly,

As there is a solution for motorized faders (the “good old” Mackie Control integration) please stick to that for now.

Thanks
Jochen
