Midi Thru has stopped working!

Hi there.

I have been working with Cubase for 15 years and therefore I know how it works quite well.
But what’s happening to me now, I can’t explain what it could be. The issue is in Cubase Artist 7.5.

Once a midi track has been created and the keyboard controller has been assigned, when I play it, midi in signal is monitored in the indicator of the transport bar. but this signal stops here. I mean, it can neither be recorded to the track nor sent back to the keyboard via Midi thru.
I’ve checked if track’s Midi out works by creating a new part with the pencil and writing notes in and then clicking playback. In this case, the program works fine.
The Midi adjustements in Cubase are correct.

I’ve been looking around for days and seeking some topic about that, but I don’t find a solution.

Luckily, I also have Cubase LE 11 installed (64-bit as well) and everything works perfectly.
Do you know any Issue with Cubase 7.5 running on Windows 10? Everything was fine while I worked on Windows 7.

Can someone help me?

The first thing I would try is trashing you preferences folder(s). If you have multiple Cubase installs, get rid of all of them.
(You can just move or rename the folders and Cubase will create fresh ones next time it starts.)

Hi mlindeb, thanks for replying!

When I worked on Windows 7, I had installed Cubase LE 8 (32 bits) and Cubase Artist 7,5 (64 bits) and each one of them worked fine, so I’ve experienced more than one Cubase installed.

I’m not sure your recommendation is the solution, because every version has its own preferences folder… but I’ll try it.

Correct, which is why I recommend you remove all preference folders from all Cubase installs.

Hi again mlindeb,

your suggestion has worked!!!
My Cubase Artist 7.5 works properly again.

Thank you so much!
