Migrating from C14 to C15 - Copying Settings?

Hello - now that 15.0.10 is out and has fixed some critical bugs for me, I am thinking of starting to use C15 instead of C14. Is there an easy way (on Mac) to migrate all my settings, color scheme, PLE presets, key commands, project templates, etc. to C15? I’ve made some changes in C14 after having C15 installed, so wondering if I need to copy some files between folders?

Thanks!

Hi,

Cubase makes this migration automatically during the very first start of the new version.

As @Martin.Jirsak said, these settings are automatically migrated during the installation of C15 … BUT only back then, the first time. It won’t be of much help to you in your situation.
You could update these settings manually if you know what kind of changes have been made in the meantime. Can you be more specific? Or you could completly deinstall C15 and let the new installation take care of it.

I’ve made project template changes (so the project templates showing up in the Hub in C15 are out of date) and PLE preset changes and key command changes. I’m wondering if perhaps an uninstall and fresh reinstall would be best. Is there a way to completely uninstall C15 on Mac including all associated files and folders?

Hi,

The preferences are stored here:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64

Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 15).

I uninstalled and reinstalled C15 and it properly migrated all my C14 settings over now. Thanks all!

Good for you!
I had a similar situation on two systems not too long ago and that method yielded the cleanest results.
