Sampler Track shouldnt be too hard to implent… just add automation to the sampler and insert effect slots… then you’re basically there. (Easier said then done ofcourse
)
To be honest, I mainly only ever use Cubase to access Melodyne DNA for vocals when the need arises, I am still on Cubase SX2 with Windows Vista, no problems so far, never felt the need to upgrade because I achieved exactly what I expected, I probably don’t know what I am missing ![]()
Speaking of vocals… i couldnt find what i needed within the halion library so i used the Kyoto violin to simulate this opera-like melody line ![]()
(this a halion sonic selection only bit btw)
Nothing fancy… i dont make songs… i make beats ![]()
(not a musician… a beatmaker)
Anyways… i thought the kyoto served it’s purpose.
Thanks for sharing, now I found that interesting and it could be developed into a nice longer track especially using HALion pads in the background, I have attached a Dropbox link to a project that took two weeks and I have just finished it, I have used mainly HALion and NEO FM presets, the violin is SampleTank and the grand piano is the iM1 app, all drums are HALion kits, some sound fx are MiniSampler

Yh thats why i said im a beatmaker
As where musician tries to expand to paint a full picture
Im just trying to paint a background for a rapper/singer to fill in their story ![]()
Basically i play short-loops and build as if it’s a sample based piece (like how they made hiphop in the early 90’s)
Do you make your own beat patterns and if you do - have you been through all 60 drum kits in HALion, there are some fantastic kits
I like to make intricate rhythms rather than a beats based project, but then I haven’t heard your finished track and I possibly would be pleasantly surprised ![]()
Dont think you will be pleasantly surprised
i make soul bleeding underground beats lolol
Yes i make my own drum patterns but mostly “boom bap” stuff so nothing too difficult… pretty straight forward stuff… the focus is to not take away the focus from the vocalist. The quality of the song rests on them…
I just create the atmosphere for them to tell their story…
Like Gotham is always dark n grey and Batman makes it an exciting story ![]()

Have you tried the AHH PAD in HALion/Synth Pad, that sounds pretty good
Tried them all… but they all sounded too digital/synthy for what i was looking for
I didnt have a melody in mind., i just knew i needed some female vocal expressions on the rest…
The robotic voice in the 2nd part was just me afterwards fooling around
This was the chorus and outro btw… the verses are without the kyoto and robotic
Sorry for the late reply!
The issue has been added to our backlog.
This is the workaround for the time being:
Navigate to any audio file and double tap it (dragging it onto a key has no effect). Once done, the sample is assigned to the selected key and everything is back to normal.
Best,
Lars
Hi Lars,
Thanks for the info, our good friend CJ_Monster already gave me the same work around.
A belated happy new year to you🍻
