Minor bug CB 15 - Render in place misses last multiple outputs if gap

Hi!

Just a small minor issue in CB15 … and probably previous versions as well.

If you for any reason have a VSTi with multiple outputs not in sequence, i.e. you have enabled output 1 + 4 and then output 8., only outputs 1-2 will be rendered when using Render in place.

In my case it is because my plugin is sending Ambience output to output 8 as default, but I only use output 1-4 for remaining sounds.
No big deal and there are work-arounds….but still irritating.

How to recreate:

  • Activate an VSTi Rack plugin with multiple outputs
  • Activate outputs 01 + 02 + 04, or any other output than 03 to leave a gap
  • Select Midi tracks and use Render in place
  • Only the outputs 01-03 before the gap are rendered

I hope someone can recreate!

THANK YOU for posting this!! I was having serious aggravation trying to figure out why my Overhead and Room (stereo) outputs weren’t rendering, but the other outputs (all mono) were. It’s because I had a gap. I selected/render ALL tracks, et voila! It worked. Now I just have to delete the output tracks I didn’t want rendered separately. Cubase has some strange glitches in how they do things and the problems that arise unexpectedly.

Hi, glad it helped.:+1:
