Missing Content Again

FFS!! This happened to be a few months ago. And I went through and manually fixed it. I used GA on and off. Then I updated the download agent or whatever recently, and the missing content issue is back again. Why does this keep happening FFS!!

I am on a Mac OS platform. If someone from Steinberg can confirm what are the exact correct paths and permissions settings that are required for GA and the content so we can make sure this doesn’t keep happening on the system. This is getting ridiculous.

try going into the Media Bay and deselect the folders where the content is. Quit, then re-add the content and perhaps rescan the folder.

It’s worked for me in the past.

I’m having the exact same issue(s).

After receiving an email " Get a free Groove Agent Expansion" for Bouncy Vibration package with the download code in the body of the email; I went on and downloaded it via SDA.

Now, none of the Cubase Pro 14 VSTis show any content, nor I can find the content on the media bay menu. (Looks like it’s scanning something and does not show any results)

I’m using Cubase Pro 14, with Absolute 6 VST Collection on Windows 11

I honestly don’t know how to fix this.

Does cubase generate any human readable logs that I can peek to try and fix this?

im having same problem…i too got that email.

i tried a bunch of things including the recommendation on here. it didnt fix it. it seems the GA SE content is totally hosed. I will try to completely remove and re-install GA and all the packs I own.

If someone is on a Mac, can you confirm, how is your content installed?

I am seeing /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content/VST Sound/

But when I try to install, the installer fails to install and instead creates sym links to the content in /Home/$username/Downloads/Steinberg/OSX/$packagename/$contentname

But I am seeing it tried to install and create link in
/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content/VST Sound/

and others in

/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content/Goorve Agent/VST Sound/

Update:

I tested this today on another clean Mac system. I am getting the exact same errors. I suspect what is happening is the GA SE content I download using the download client is not licensed for my version of Cubase Pro I own anymore. I will check the web site to see if there is another content download.

This issue got me today again. After installing “Content Halion 7” ~30Gib (which the process went to 0 bytes/second around 20Gib downloaded and I had to pause and continue a couple of times).
It is becoming extremely frustrating to have this experience every time the download manager decides to introduce this issues every now and then.

I not only have cubase pro but also the Absolute 6 product, and the only way to fix it so far is to uninstall everything Steinberg related, and reinstall everything again which very time consuming.

Isn’t it time to Steinberg Engineering team to address this issue once and for all? At least have someone to debug the issue and find us a fix that does not require all products and content reinstall. Bare minimum at this time.

If the problem is a corrupted database just tell us what files can we delete/update to force a full DB re-creation on the next startup or something.
