Missing items in Cubase 15

When I try to load the trial version of Cubase 15 and the LoFi HipHop template it gives me this error message:

And when I close it, it tells me: “This template provides a solid foundation for creating a lo-fi hip hop track. To get started, you’ll need the following content packs (available via the Steinberg Download Assistant):

• Groove Agent SE
• HALion Sonic and Sonic Selection”

Not sure how it’s missing…thought I did the install correctly…Any help is greatly appreciated!

Open the Steinberg Library Manager and check what’s missing. If you miss something a yellow triangle will appear on top right.

Did you use SDA to reinstall Groove Agent SE / Halion Sonic and their selection content?

Can you share the complete directory path where Cubase is trying to find that file? For what i can see from your screenshot it looks weird.

That is because the file isn’t really a file in a directory on the computer but in a .vstsound file which is a container format from Steinberg for their samples and sounds, and those are only referenced by an ID (as seen in the screenshot), so it is quite impossible to find out which library one needs to install to get access to that sample (at least I don’t know a way…)

That .wav 25 sax solo 3 is in the LoopMash library. Open SDA and reinstall it.

Now you gotta tell us how you found that out? Or do you simply already have that library installed?

Easy with the MediaBay (F5): search for a file (25 sax solo 3) on bottom there’s the library name.

He’s probably missing that library (that comes with Cubase) or it’s just corrupted or moved.

Yeah, well it is of course easy if you have that library already installed… but if you don’t, you just don’t know.

MediaBay makes it easy and that library comes with Cubase. If you have a purchased library, probably you’ll know where the file comes from the start.

Anyway it worth a try. He asked support and anyone who probably has it, can try and help to sort it out.

I am not seeing a LoopMash library in SDA…

I am not seeing any LoopMash library in SDA.

It’s not in my SDA…

Loopmash the instrument was discontinued ages ago…..they still supply the loopmash content in Pro versions but looks like not in Elements.

So how come you miss that file in your project? Did you try a Cubase pro version when you made that project?

Open your MediaBay and see if there’s something missing.

I was just starting a new project to try and get use to Cubase Elements through the trial version before I possibly commit to purchasing it. I have not done anything with the Pro version at all I just downloaded the Cubase 15 Elements Trial version and have just run into these problems.

As the OP wrote in the first post, it is the “Lofi HipHop” template that comes with Cubase. I also opened it and got the same error (because I don’t have that library installed). The project notes in the template say that you need “Groove Agent SE” and “Halion Sonic” installed, but they don’t mention the Loopmash Content. Probably just an oversight, but can of course be irritating for someone who is new to the Software.

Therefore problem solved.

Maybe Cubase isn’t for me after all. I keep trying to get everything installed and then it still tells me that they need to be loaded. I have loaded the Groove Agent and Halion Sonic and still get the message that they need to be loaded…

Any other thoughts or ideas from anyone on how to get these files loaded?

You can’t with Cubase Elements - it is in a library that is only available for Cubase Artist and Pro.
